In case you missed it elsewhere on this blog, our third daughter, Gracie Garman, was born with a congenital heart defect called Hypoplastic Right Heart Syndrome.
The morning of Gracie’s first open heart surgery, I woke up at 3:30 AM feeling like I had a stomach full of acid. As I turned to go down the stairs, I had an incredibly loud thought. (Possibly the voice of God, but I really don’t want to blame this whole thing on Him in the event that it wasn’t His idea). Well, anyway, this was the loud thought: “You should write all of this down.”
Good idea, I said back to my thought/possible-voice-of-God. There are a ton of people who are going through what I’m going through and perhaps they could benefit from my words. Perhaps they can find hope as they watch me go through it.
For the last five years, I’ve recorded our journey as it’s been happening. This has not been easy. It was my original intent to post the whole story through a series of blog posts, but after doing that for awhile, my husband convinced me to just write and publish the story (I’m still trying to figure out how exactly he did that). Anyway, after giving up roughly 14 times, the book is finally here!
Get your Kindle version HERE (This is the best way to buy it!)
Or if you prefer a hard copy, you can order it on Createspace HERE Or Amazon HERE. (If it’s the same to you, buy the paperback from Createspace…Amazon is a real royalty sucker and you’ll support the Garman girls’ wedding fund).
Better yet, if you are in Northern Virginia, come to Pillar Church on a Sunday morning and I’ll sell you a copy for $10.
