One of my favorite past-times is ideating.
Ideas only usually come to me when I am sick and in bed but not tired enough to be asleep. I had the opportunity recently to be in this state of consciousness for a prolonged period of time and have come out the other side with a brainstorm that will hopefully not pan out to be merely a side effect from generic DayQuil.
I try to study the Bible consistently. My intentions are usually good, but with everything else that happens in life, my Bible reading time all too often gets cramped or short-changed. Studying the Bible with others, however, brings energy, accountability, and motivation.
This spring the women of my church are going to be doing a Bible study together that requires homework (Bible reading) outside of class. As I was thinking about how good this was going to be for me, I wanted every woman I knew to do it with me! Why couldn’t I invite women from all around the globe to get the same books we’re using, do the study together, and discuss it here at the blog?
So there you have it. There is now a new “Bible Study” tab at the top of the home page and you are welcome to either simply observe what we are all learning there or get the books and do the study with us. There are already 18 people who have signed up to do this! If you want an online community of people to help you study God’s Word and apply it to your life, this could be the class for you.
